Before you start

Check these 4 things before installing:

  1. Your phone supports eSIM
Dial *#06#. If you see an EID number, your phone supports eSIM.

  2. Your phone is unlocked

  3. You're on a stable Wi-Fi or mobile connection
If the connection drops mid-install, the eSIM may not download fully.

  4. Keep your home SIM in your phone
Your physical SIM stays fully active for calls, texts, and verification codes.
We recommend turning data + roaming OFF on your primary SIM to avoid unexpected data roaming charges. Calls and texts may still incur roaming fees depending on your provider.

Installation

There are 3 ways to install your eSIM. Quick Install is the fastest option on newer phones (iOS 17.4+ and Android 10+). If your device doesn't support it, use the QR Code method - you may need another screen or your phone's built-in QR scanner. If both options fail, Manual Installation works on every supported device.

Quick Install (Recommended)

1. Tap the button called My eSIM in your order email.

2. Tap Quick Install
If nothing happens → use the QR Code method

3. Follow the prompts
Installing can take up to 2 minutes

4. Installed successfully?

QR Code (Classic method)

1. Find the QR code
In your order email, or after tapping the My eSIM button.

2. Scan the QR code
• Use your phone's camera to scan it from another screen or a printed copy or
• Scan it on the same device using built-in tools (Google Lens / Samsung QR / iPhone QR detection) or
• If your phone supports it, scan a saved QR image
Do NOT use 3rd-party QR apps
If scanning doesn't work → use Manual Installation or see Installation Issues

3. Follow the prompts
Installing can take up to 2 minutes

Manual Installation

1. Find the activation details
Tap the My eSIM button in your order email, scroll down, and tap Check Usage to see your activation details.

2. Open your phone's eSIM settings
iPhone: Settings → Cellular → "Set Up Cellular" / "Add eSIM"
Android: usually Settings → SIM or Network settings → Add eSIM / Add Mobile Plan
Not sure where it is? Search "eSIM" in your phone's Settings search bar - your phone will point you to the right menu.

3. Choose Enter Details Manually

4. Enter the activation details
Some phones ask for one field (Activation Code). Others ask for two fields:
• SM‑DP+ Address
• Activation Code

5. Follow the prompts
Installing can take up to 2 minutes
If it doesn't work → see Installation Issues

Installed. What now?

1. Turn the eSIM ON
Go to Settings, open Mobile Data or SIMs, select the eSIM, and turn it ON.

2. Set the new eSIM as your mobile data SIM

3. Turn Data Roaming ON for the eSIM

4. Toggle Airplane Mode for 10 seconds or restart your phone
This refreshes the network connection

✓ If you're already abroad, the eSIM should connect within 1-2 minutes.

✓ If you installed it before travel, it will activate automatically when you arrive.

If the eSIM doesn't connect after these steps, continue to Internet bars but no connection?

Helpful tips

• Delete old eSIMs you no longer use - it reduces installation errors.

• Keep your order confirmation email handy - the My eSIM button on it shows your data usage and all your eSIM details, so you won't need to dig through your inbox later.

• Turn data + roaming OFF on your primary SIM to avoid charges, but keep it active for calls/SMS.

• If supported, set a mobile data warning to track usage and avoid running out unexpectedly.

• Rename your eSIM for easier recognition

Internet bars but no connection?

✓ Select a network manually
Automatic selection may pick a network with signal but no data. Select another network manually.

✓ Check the APN
You'll find the correct APN for your eSIM after tapping the My eSIM button in your order email.
A wrong or missing APN stops mobile data even if signal bars appear.

✓ Toggle Airplane Mode for 10 seconds
This forces the phone to refresh its network connection and start a new data session.

Common questions

Can I install now and activate later?

Yes - and we actually recommend it. If you have strong Wi-Fi available, installing in advance is more reliable than doing it on the go. Activation only starts when you first connect to a supported network abroad.

Will my WhatsApp number change?

No. Your WhatsApp number stays the same because it's linked to your primary SIM's phone number, not the eSIM. The same applies to apps like iMessage, FaceTime, Telegram, Signal, Viber, and other messaging platforms - they continue using your existing number or account.

Can I still receive calls/texts on my normal SIM?

Yes - you can still receive calls and texts on your normal SIM as long as it stays active. Just be aware that receiving calls abroad can cost extra with some providers. Incoming SMS are usually free, but check your home provider's roaming rates to avoid surprises.

Can I delete and reinstall the eSIM?

Yes - you can safely delete and reinstall it on the same device if needed. It's not transferable to another device - if you switch phones, you'll need a new eSIM.

Can I use more than one eSIM?

Yes. Most modern phones support multiple eSIMs. You can install and store several eSIMs, but you can only use one for mobile data at a time. Just turn on the eSIM you need.

Still need help?

If your eSIM still doesn't connect, follow our Troubleshooting Guide. If it still doesn't work after that, contact us - this isn't how it's supposed to behave, and the eSIM could be faulty (rare, but it can happen). We'll take a closer look.
